Our main service is the manufacture of new and replacement timber doors and windows. Each item is made to suit the confirmed dimensions, intended use, architectural style and project requirements.

We work with homeowners, builders, architects, councils and heritage professionals, from individual replacement sashes through to complete door and window packages.

Make the joinery in our Buchanan workshop and prepare it for collection, delivery or independently arranged freight.

Supply-only service:A.J. Custom manufactures and supplies timber joinery for installation by others. Glazing, coating, hardware and seals are included only where stated in the project quotation.

Heritage reproduction

Match the details that give the building its character.

For heritage and period work, we can reproduce original proportions, sash arrangements, moulding profiles, glazing bars and construction details from an existing item, profile sample, measured drawing, architectural documentation or suitable photographs.

Repairs and restoration work can also be considered, although our primary focus is manufacturing new and replacement joinery.

Project-specific options

Specified to suit the job.

Timber speciesWestern Red Cedar, Merbau, Rosewood, Surian Cedar and Accoya are among the timbers we can offer. Availability varies by species and supplier; other suitable species may be available on request.
GlazingSingle or double glazing with clear, obscure, patterned or safety glass. Traditional putty glazing can be used where appropriate for heritage work.
FinishJoinery can be supplied in raw timber, primed or fully finished, as defined in the quotation.
Hardware & sealsHardware can be fitted or the joinery prepared for nominated hardware. Weather seals and other performance details can be incorporated where specified.

Dimensions and measuring

Two ways to confirm manufacturing sizes.

A.J. Custom can attend site to measure where the location and project scope make this practical. Alternatively, we can manufacture from final dimensions supplied and confirmed by the customer, builder or project professional.

The measurement method, responsible party and final approved manufacturing dimensions will be established before production begins.

Central Coast:
Supply is available, with delivery considered by arrangement.

Other locations:
Supply-only orders can be considered, with collection or independent freight organised by the customer.
